We have never had one fail even under some pretty hot conditions (like so hot you cannot hold onto the sides without gloves). As a note - make sure you enable track caching on the drive. The default as shipped is off. Why? I don't know because it speeds up serial transfer rates by a factor of 2. Brett Behm
