Lines: 15 I have an old drive case w/power supply for 2 half height 5-1/4" floppy drives and I am thinking of "rolling my own" SyQuest drive. My questions: - Can I take the floppies out or my case and use the space (equivalent to a full height 5-1/4" drive) for a SyQuest drive? - Is it OK to mount a SyQuest drive vertically? (I've only seen them mounted horizontally) - Where can I get a cheap bare SyQuest mechanism with only the embedded SCSI controller? (preferably the newer mechs with the 20ms access time and higher MTBF rating, I think these have an orange LED???) How much $$$?? - Do SyQuest drives take 5/12 VDC like standard 5-1/4" floppies? Thanks for any help, I will post a summary if there is interest. ---jb (jfbruno@rodan.acs.syr.edu)
