Depending on the SCSI controller board in the SUN you may, or may not
be able to use an embedded SCSI drive.

Our experience has been that the 'sc' controller boards (Sun 2 SCSI) 
work with the EMULEX MD21 ESDI-SCSI adaptors, but do not work with
(for example) Micropolis embedded SCSI controllers.

3/50's and 3/60's both *do* work.  I believe, though we have not had one
to test, that the Sun 3 SCSI boards also work.

Why?  I don't know, but would appreciate it if anyone could shed any light
on it.
