We're currently working on getting my meta-x package ready for release,
it should be done by Monday and will hopefully be  available soon after.
 In any case it will be a part of patch 7.

Note: contrary to my prior post it will be fully supported, and in the
"extensions" subdirectory of the ATK sources.
