Are you sure that you aren't doing something >really< simple like switching
the switch that controls passthru/MIDI? My Dr. T's has a big, white button
on its front to change between sending signals out the back (rs232 passthru)
or out to the MIDI bus. I've forgotten to switch it back quite a few times
after a long session of telecom, only to confuse my modem into submission
with all those MIDI packets ;)
