I'm sorry if I break up the monotony of the flame wars,
but I've got a question:

I figure it's about time I learned C.  To all those
C programmers out there, which compiler do you use
and why?  Can you suggest any good books to help me
learn?  (I know Pascal, BASIC, and a bit o' Scheme
(argh!))
