    First, let me thank all those who replied to my problem (You know who you
are).  

    Second, when programming the Atari ST do not set the 200 Hz timer as
something in the hard disk driver and gosh-knows-where-else depends on the
value of this timer.  IMHO, they have every right to do so as well.
