[I'm posting this for someone who lacks net access currently for
reasons related to the following.  Please do NOT reply to me.  I
don't read comp.sys.dec so I won't see any followups either.  I'm
sorry if this problem has already been discussed before.]

Could someone who has had luck getting a modem, particularly a
Telebit, to work with a DECstation 3100 contact the following
person.  He is apparently experiencing signalling problems on
the serial port.  Rumour is the 3100 just has signalling problems
on the serial port, although the 5000 is fine.  If anyone has
gotten one to work this guy would love to hear about it.
