Nor do I know of anyone who sells used ones. However, several brokers do sell used DEC Rainbow hard disk controllers. Note that the DEC controllers work just fine, except in the following circumstances: 1) You want to run two disks off the controller, 2) You are trying to connect a drive with connectors in places that will not work with the DEC controller's cable (the RD53 being a prime example). If you have one of the above situations, the thing to do is find someone who has a MicroCHS board AND does not have either of the above restrictions. Then buy a used DEC controller and trade it for the MicroCHS controller (that's what I did). - --- Opus-CBCS 1.12 * Origin: Glacier Peak Rainbow, Bellevue, WA - 206/644-8431 ------------------------------ Date: 07-26-90 (08:01) To: ALL Subject: Misc. Questions From: GEORGE THEALL Hey, where'd everybody go? This echo's been dead for the past week. Maybe the following questions will pick things up again. Whatever happened to _Rainbow News_? It's been about 9 months since the last issue, I believe. Is Caroline still publishing? Any word about Windows v3.0 on the Rainbow? Has Len Burke made any progress on it yet? Has anyone used Warner Losh's RBINT (now called RABIT) in its beta form? It's a TSR designed to reroute requests to take over int 18h by other programs; eg, Turbo C v2.0, Turbo C++, v1.0, etc... Does it run on your system? Have you used it successfully in combination with programs? George ------------------------------
