My friend gave me a Toshiba 3100 laptop. The hard disk starts spinning when I power up, but quits before it gets up to speed. Does the disk need to be replaced? Is there any diagnostics I can run? Is there any Toshiba experts out there? I do not know what size disk drive it is, but the maker of the drive is JVC. If I want to sell it, it is better to first fix the drive, or is it worth anything with a broken drive? Is anyone interested in it? Thanks for any advice, Rick Lasslo (415) 691-5480
