Mohr) Organization: ucb Lines: 29 -- Mike Aos's list left out some of the genuinely FUNNY current apple prices. At the UC-Berkeley "Scholar's Workstation," as of 7/16/90: M0218 Apple 1 Mbyte Memory Expansion Kit.(SE/30, II only)..$245.00 M0219 Apple 2 Mbyte Memory Expansion Kit...................$388.00 A9P0332 Apple 1200/300 Baud Personal Modem...............$220.00 (Backordered until Aug 90) c0002LL/A Apple 2400 Baud Personal Modem...................$345.00 Remember, these are EDUCATIONAL DISCOUNT prices. OPINION: A salesman who sells his customer memory at these prices is a thief. Since low-cost modems sometimes have reduced functionality, a salesman who sells his customer modems at these prices is only probably a thief. ------- Comparison shop for 1M SIMMs at $55 +/- $5 mail order. 2400 Baud modems can be had for less than half Apple's 1200 Baud price above. Some fax modems cost less than Apple's 2400 Baud modem. Is the Apple 1M Kit 4 256k SIMMs? If so, can't they be had for about $20 a piece? Gordon Mohr gmohr@ocf.berkeley.edu
