Lines: 23 Well, ok it's all my fault and I am a fool and all that, but here's my problem. I bought a *great* 210Mb drive for my IIci from LaCie last December (internal, my Mac's only drive). I love it: it's fast, quiet, and ewell, quite spacious. As soon as I got it up and running (no problem at all) I partitioned it into a ~100Mb and 2 ~50Mb partitions.. I also checked out some of Silverlining's features, password protection being a neat one among them. Ahem. I set up passwords for each partition and reset that master disk password, each password being an obvious one (for me) and one that I could definitely remember. Well, you know what's coming next. I forgot all the passwords. Fortunately, the 100Mb and one of the 50Mb partitions are not locked, i.e. I can read and write to them (until I lock them once, that is! which I won't do!!!). The 2nd 50Mb partition is locked, empty and I can't write to it. Super, huh! Now if the password protection software is worth anything at all, I do not expect to receive any replies from anyone. But if anyone can think of any way to get those 50Mb back, please let me know! What about backing the whole thing up and reformatting the disk? Does anyone know if that will reset the passwords? Desperate (and repentant), Carlo. carlo@cvs.rochester.edu
