Normally, when a file is copied from one disk to another, the usual status box with the little indicator showing how much of the file(s) has been copied and how much is left. The interesting behavior, and this is an occasional occurrence, not all the time, is that that status 'bar' will immediately and completely fill, from the start of copying the file, and the area directly to the left of the end of the bar is also filled, though not immediately. ------------------------------------------------------- |XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX | ------------------------------------------------------- Normal status bar about halfway through. ------------------------------------------------------- XXXX|XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX| ------------------------------------------------------- Abnormal status bar perhaps halfway through to completely finished. Is this normal? Disinfectant (thanks, John Norstad! I love the About... box!) doesn't show anything unusual. I've also seen this behavior on another Mac, a IIx here at work. -- Stephen N.
