I can't believe that I'm having I/O errors on the SyQuest... I also had this problem (I think it was with System 6.0.3), but it did turn out to be a bad SyQuest ( :-( ) (Fortunately, MirrorTech shipped me a replacement UPS Overnight -- got it the next day!). Most formatting software has an option to do a non-destructive test (i.e. doesn't erase your files) of your drive (of your cartridge if a SyQuest removable). Try that. Erik A.
