I just looked in my console window for grins and saw the message:
"Jul 18 16:14:55 mendez mach: /Users/nash/OpticalDisk: optimization changed from SPACE to TIME"

This makes me think that the Optical drive can operate in two modes. Personally
I want to always be in 'Optimized for time' mode. I rarely need all of the
storage on a given disk, but I hate waiting for it.

Is there any way to set the mode you prefer?
