Bill,
     What kind of files, and what version of Word Perfect?

Basically you have two options...Shift F-10 to import other Word Perfect
files made with the same version you are running, and Control F-5 that
brings up a menu that allows you to import or save ASCII files, etc.,
and in previous Word Perfect version format if you are running 5.0 or
5.1.
