On the other hand it might not be all that obscure.  An environment that
teaches that various natural body functions are evil, produces guilt, which
in turn produces all kinds of strange reactions.  Not that I'm suggesting
that this explains homosexuality, but it could explain a lot of individual
instances, in the same way it could explain Jim Baker's demise.  The guy
was making himself crazy with sexual repression and guilt.
