I am trying to find the earliest published reference to IMAGING
with charge-coupled devices.

I remember discussions of the possibilities with the physicists
and astronomers when I was at Princeton in the late 1960s,
but the earliest reference I can find is 1970.  Is there anything
in print earlier than that?
