It requires external compensation, bootstrap I have a 1987 Toshiba 'AUDIO LINEAR IC'S' (3702D) data book which lists a TA7205AP 5.8W amp, and a TA7241AP 2 x 5.8W amp. I'm not sure about the A suffix, but this seems like the same device. I can't find it in later data books. Tandy in the UK will even sell you one, though I don't know about data. >not sure what the capacitor beween the + rail and the pin next to the >+ rail was for ? (If you ever find out Please let me know). The capacitor attached to pin 2 (shown as 68nF on the application circuit from Vcc to pin 2, but recommended between pin 2 and ground) is apparently used to improve PSU ripple rejection. It need not be connected.
