I've been following this group for some time now and have gotten extremely interested in virtual reality. I am writing a report for a technical writing class here at OSU that deals with a virtual reality simulator. My report deals with the creation of a cyberspace environment where you can do many of the things that have been discussed here such as, reality simulator, architect's drawing board, etc. By following this group, I know about the hardware interfaces, but I have seen little on the subject of the software involved. Since the software is a major part of the simulator, I need to cover it in my report. I would appreciate very much if some of you knowledgeable types out there could post ( or send ) some info on things like: - what languages would be better? - procedures and protocols required to hook up several simulators to create a cyberspace-type environment - references or readings that deal with operating sys that point me in the right direction - any object-oriented literature that might deal with this subject - anything I didn't mention that you think might be important Thanks in advance. I will post anything I get for those who have similiar questions. Scott Wahl
