Cyc is described in pretty good detail in the book "Building Large Knowledge-Based Systems; Representation and Inference in the Cyc Project" by Douglas B. Lenat and R. V. Guha. Published by Addison-Wesley. I picked my copy up in the local university book store. Cyc is an attempt to build a large knowledge base of "common sense" information. A seperate project is attempting to build a natural language interface which can draw on the knowledge base to resolve ambiguity. I believe the current interface project members are using is a windowed "knowledge editor". Damon Scaggs uunet!frith!upba!damon
