Anyway, I've been using Clipper for about 2 1/2 years now. I like it a lot. YES you can create stand alone .EXE's. In fact, that is all you can create. There is no development environment so you use your favorite text editor and compile from the command line. I have a fast (33Mhz 386) machine that I use for development and can use Desqview to have a DOS window for compiling and my editor in another. I can even use Borland's TLINK to do the linking. This becomes a drawback for small programs or for testing hypotheses. You are forced to go through the steps of creating the program, compiling and then running unlike the pseudo-compilers that interpret the code. I don't know what 5.0 will have to offer in place of this but there seem to be plenty of other important goodies. Faster, more efficient compiling, better array handling, etc. The programs are solid, fast, and completely my own. I like it. I can do most everything my C programs can do because I can link Clipper and C. *** I don't have even the remotest affiliation with Nantucket. I just like *** Clipper. -Joe -- Joe Duval duvalj@bionette.cgrb.orst.edu Looking for 62-64 Chevy Nova body parts. I've got a 63 Nova SS forsale.
