Message-ID: Date: 28 Jul 90 22:07:25 GMT Sender: usenet@math.lsa.umich.edu Organization: University of Michigan Math Dept., Ann Arbor MI. Lines: 26 epoch 3.2b, decstation 5000/200, ultrix 4.0 (rev. 174), uws v4.0 (rev. 164). used m-pmax.h, s-bsd4-3.h to build it. the stripped file, installed with "install -c -s", is /usr/local/bin/epoch. it dies with /usr/local/bin/epoch: Bad address. or Out of memory. most of the time, when run just as is. But curiously when I do cat /etc/motd; /usr/local/bin/epoch is seems to work most of the time. Another way to reliably get it to work is to launch it in its own subshell, i.e. (/usr/local/bin/epoch) and that works. the unstripped file "/usr/src/gnu/epoch-3.2/src/epoch" runs fine most of the time, but (i think) it can be convinced to fail. I guess this begs the question, how do I send in an SPR ? --Ed Edward Vielmetti, U of Michigan math dept comp.archives moderator
