I wasn't specificaly interested in the graphics, but after a week of locating bugs, we were informed by the local Scientific Center that our salesoffice had a slightly older version of the OS. We have "9013" and the PASC had "9020" which fixed a fair number of the bugs. Still, we had no problems installing it onto our net. If AIX isn't Unix (U*X wars), then perhaps you have spent more time on more BSD based machines. Yes, xlc and xlf (C and Fortran compilers) took a bit adaptation, but our machine wasn't bad considering the price. There are people who will give a more glowing opinion, but they probably didn't hang the machine as many times as we did. --e. nobuo miya, NASA Ames Research Center, eugene@orville.nas.nasa.gov {uunet, mailrus, other gateways}!ames!eugene
