There is IMHO an excellent article on project experience with C++ in the 1990
Usenix C++ Conference Proceedings, pp. 1-9: "Experiences with C++ and Object
Oriented Software Development" by Nicholas Wybolt of Cadre Technologies.  My
reading of the article is that C++ is easier to write but harder to read,
harder to test, harder to debug, harder to maintain, and harder to evolve
than C.  Will somebody remind me why this is progress.
