Hello out there.  I'm trying to develop a code to be ported to several
(more than two) machines, and the machine dependent stuff has to go into
#ifdef blocks.  I'd like to use an elseif structure, but I can't figure
out how to do it.  Any method I use has to use standard vanilla cpp calls
