I'm not worried about what the DEC-20 down the hall does. It's when people start munging headers on the way to machines they don't *know* need it that bothers me. Particularly when Ohio State and UUNET *both* munge headers, but in exactly opposite ways, and with the explanation that they have found empirically over time that it works better that way. At least UUNET will quit munging if you ask them to. I mean, Karl makes a good case. I'm not going to argue about it any longer. I just worry about it... because UUNET makes a good case too.
