"Political" could be as simple as not meeting the aceptable use policies of NSF). Requiring connected status for domains listed in the root servers makes no sense and cuases a fair amount of problems. (Sure require the nameservers to have conmnected status, but there's nothing gained by requiring the addresses they serve to be connected) The current policies on what gets into a root server etc needs to be reworked in a major way --rick
