An article of computer animation, and trying to find out "where the hell was all of the neat animation software for Sun workstations". Our hero is surveying the landscape, after looking over PeeCees and Max, he comes across an interesting looking box (reprinted without permission, so sue me): You've got PCs at the bottom," says Sheer. "At the top, though are the Apple Macintosh and especially the Commodore Amiga." Commodore? our Hero thinks. Commodore? As in Commodore Business Machines Inc. West Chester, PA? Yep. Commodore's a big league player in this niche, thinks to the Amiga, which has emerged as the machine of choice for the low-cost producer. The Editor learns that Cable Channel, a video-tape news "magazine" for the Cable Tv industry is produced on an Amiga. He learns that Polar Arts, Los Angeles, CA uses the Amiga machine to do 3-D modeling for no less a giant than motion picture maker Warner Bros. In fact, Commodore has recently introduced the Amiga 3000, an upgraded Amiga version. . . On page 51 is a nice color shot of the A3000 with a stupid looking 3-D bar chart on it. Good pr, eh? >> mike smithwick << Any opinions are my own since nobody else would ever want them. "Colonize Cyberspace!"
