Please send your vote (an unambiguous "yes" or "no", please) to bscott@nyx.cs.du.edu, or bscott@nyx.UUCP (...uunet!isis!nyx!bscott), on the following: A new, unmoderated newsgroup to be called comp.sys.amiga.video, which will house discussion of the rapidly growing field of Amiga desktop and commercial video production. Character generation software, genlocks, animation software as it relates to video production, graphics boards (again, as they relate to video) and just about anything else regarding to the use of Amigas in the professional or hobbyist studio may take place in this newsgroup. This group to be distinct from any proposed "multimedia" group, in that it relates specifically to the field of VIDEO production. The Amiga has a very strong position in this market, and the response to the eariler call for discussion has been almost uniformly positive. Voting to continue from July 5th until August 5th, 1990. I will attempt to acknowledge all votes I receive, but if you do not get a reply from me look for your name in the lists of votes I hope to post periodically in news.groups. After the voting period ends, following the guidelines, I shall post a final tally of all votes received, and if there is at least a 2/3rds margin of "YES" to "NO" and if at least 100 more "YES" votes than "NO" votes are received, then after a 5-day correction period the newsgroup will be created. If you cannot reach me for whatever reason, please do not post votes publicly as I cannot count them. Find someone who has a better connection for mail, or as a last resort post a message and I will see what I can do to help you get mail to me. Vote early, vote often! (well, vote once...) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for yer support. . <<<>>>
