I can't take the credit for this idea, though. A friend of mine told me and I don't know how he came upon it. Boot up Copy II Plus, put the headcleaning disk in, and choose "Catalog Disk." That sucker'll run for about 15 seconds trying to read the disk. You can do it a second time as I think most headcleaners recommend 30 second cleanings. Also works for 5.25" disks, BTW...
