I've got a small problem that's a big problem. I was working on my GS last night, when I went to through some files in the trash, it asked my to insert the disk that the files were on. BUT, the files were on a partition on my cartridge hard drive and it WAS in the drive! I quickly discovered that I had some bad blocks on that partition. AND the bad blocks were #2 and #9!!!! (and some other, less important blocks). Now, since the block #2 is bad, that partition is not recognized! I went into SPY.EDIT (a block editor) and found that everything else was there but it couldn't read block 2 or 9. I know that everything else is still on the partition but I can't get to it because the header is trashed. Is there a program that will reconstruct the header in block 2? Or at least be able to save all the files off that partition (so I could re-format etc... that partition). Thanks for ANY help... -mike P.S. NO, I don't have any backups of that partition. I just got the drive about 2 weeks ago, or so, and I haven't had the time or resources to start a routine backup schedule. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mike Mackovitch University of Illinois @ Urbana/Champaign Engineering Computer Science Co-op | msm26708@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu "I don't worry 'bout a thing, 'cause I know | -or- nothing's gonna be all right." -Mose Allison| coach@gagme.chi.il.us ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
