     I need to send the string "$$SON ...." in order to communicate with a
Unisys DCP(Distributed Communications Processor). I have no difficulty
getting on line but this string is either ignored or causes everything
to stop being received at the host end. The communications program makes
no difference. I have tried FreetermGS, TIC, Z-Link.
