I believe this dealer is correct - the motherboard upgrade for UniDisk
compatibility is only for the UniDisk 3.5, as the UniDisk 5.25 is just
the same as the standard //c external (except it can't be daisy-chained (?)).
Your problem with the drive not working could be either with the drive
or the computer (after all, why was it at a flea market? :-)

The AE 3.5" drive is an Apple 3.5 clone, not a UniDisk 3.5 clone.  I don't
think that will work with any //c, except the //c+.
