X-windows for AIX supports the 6153. If yours is called apa8, though, you're running ACIS 4.3. IBM didn't distribute a server for that device. It shouldn't be too difficult to write one from the sample server; the device isn't very complicated. The real question is, why bother? The screen's resolution isn't high enough to support multiple windows in a reasonable-sized font. If you have a water-filled enlarging lens like the ones they put on TVs in the '50s, or a _Brazil_-style Fresnel lens, it might be worthwhile. Those displays work quite well with the native multi-screen capability in AIX. That would be a better development target: a screen manager that allows multiple sessions, with the text of background sessions saved in video RAM for instant retrieval. -- Chuck Karish karish@mindcraft.com Mindcraft, Inc.
