I just upgraded the mother board to a SE/30. Earlier this week I purchased a Quatum 80 meg hard drive from MacLand. The drive arrived in perfect condition. I wanted to have the 80 meg be the internal drive and the 20 meg (MiniScribe) be the external drive so I removed both drive from there cases, didn't change any jumpers on either drive (the Quantum had none anyway) and swapped them. So now the Quantum is internal on the SE/30 and the MiniScribe in external in the case from MacLand. Now the problem... The Quatum and SE/30 work great, no problems, the MiniScribe however refuses to show up on the desktop, I called both MacLand and MiniScribe and they told me how I should have their drive set up, and I followed their instructions (leave the Quatum alone, move the jumper on the MiniScribe to a different location to change the SCSI ID) then I placed a SCSI terminator on the external drive and it still won't show up on the desktop. I used the CDEV SCSI Probe 2.01 and if the external drive is NOT powered on, it shows that the Quantum is SCSI ID = 0 and the to something else I could look for?? MacLand and MiniScribe have both been very helpful, and have given me plenty of their time but since its not working I would like to know if somebody else has had the same problem and how to fix it. Thanks in advance Mark Steele steelem@spot.colorado.edu
