Thanks for any info. SuperClock! only recognizes snd resources at this point. Those are the ones that are used for beeps. I also downloaded cuckoo 'cause I wanted to use it for my chime and found that I couldn't use it directly. Fortunately I have SoundMover (comp.sys.binaries.mac I think) which will do the conversion for you. Then you can either stuff it into your System file or, if you have Suitcase, put it someplace else.
