If so, in which modes (real, standard, or enhanced)? What I'm getting at: is Win 3.0 a conceivable alternative to the X Window System and Motif for single user UNIX machines, especially for reducing the cost of such machines sold with a product that only uses the 80286+ and OS as a host? In a further question, does anyone have experience in IPC between VP/ix and UNIX tasks. I saw a posting on DDE between Win 3.0 applications and UNIX over TCP/IP, so I suppose this is a possibility. Any other approaches? Last question. Does anyone know how UNIX handles background processing when the VP/ix (or similar) environment is active in foreground? By UNIX, I imply SCO UNIX VR3.2 or Interactive 386/ix, but not exclusively. Other UNIX products that would support running Windows 3.0 and its applications on 80286+ machines would be interesting. We aren't fixed on our UNIX supplier. If the answers are interesting, I'll post a summary.
