    I would like to get some information on several tools and their 
    portability across different machines.

    My company is moving towards OSF/Motif as its standard Window System.
    We mostly have (but not restricted to) SUN (4.1) workstations.

    I would like to know what is out there (either free or for sale) for
    the following:

	o  debugging tool. I currently have xdbx. Is it good bad, reliable, 
			   is there anything better?

	o  mail tool.      I have xmail. Is there anything better?

	o  TeX/LaTeX previewer. 
			   I have xtex. Is there anything better?  

	o  calendar/appointments tool.
			   DEC workstations have a nice tool but then the
			   Sun users have to rsh to a DEC.....
		 
	o  emacs for X.    i.e. all the key/mouse buttons bound. I have
			   gnu. Is there anything better?  

	o  Is there a lock screen tool (like the one in SunView) ?
