 I recently was given a stepper motor and control chip, but no documentation.
The motor is a 5 volts, with a step angle of 7.5 (I assume that's degrees)
It has two wires, red and black, each coming out of the top half and bottom half
of the motor, are these to turn the thing different directions, or what are theyfor?

The chip is labeled:   SAA1042A 
                         T8736 

I'm not sure which of those numbers identifies the chip type, and my data
book only has chips beginning with 74 and 54 :-)
It also has six standard pins on each side, and wings which look like they
might be pins 4 and 11.
Does anyone happen to have the pinout of this chip handy, or know which wires
on the motor do what? I can probably figure out the latter by experimentation,
but the last time I tried guess-work connecting an IC, I let all the smoke
out, and it just sat there and sulked forever more.
