Archive-number: 2333 In addition to the specified SciAm issue, the "one-topic" issue last fall was "What We Know About Aids" (which became outdated upon being typeset because of progress). Also, for a more media-oriented perspective, the magazine "NewDimensions" (labelled 'psychology behind the news') devoted an issue (March?/April?) to Aids. Those who have a more liberal perspective may be slightly angered by the extreme conservative bent of the magazine. But whether you agree/disagree some interesting questions and issues are raised. Also, many quotes from figures "in the news" (Koop, etc.) are included, which, if true, indicate that much of the news that reaches the 'masses' via general media is filtered information...
