This version corrects a major '386 bug in SYSID 5.0. : Also I have now taken a look at this program by Andrew Rossmann built on Steve Grant's sysid44, and find it quite comprehensive with useful TP sources. There are interesting interrupt tricks for Turbo Pascal programmers to be learned from there. For those of you who may prefer anonymous ftp, I shall make it available as (/pc/pd2/) infop100.zip at chyde.uwasa.fi, Vaasa, Finland. The program is not flawless. On my 25Mhz 386 page 2 (the CPU information page) freezes my PC so thoroughly that a cold boot is required. This is, of cource, highly annoying. Perhaps the code in PC System Programming by Michael Tischer, Abacus, 1990, for detecting the cpu might be of interest to the author. It works ok on the PCs I've tried. Furthermore, the information page 17 will explode all over the screen on my CGA Zenith Z-181 laptop (on the VGA 386 no problem on page 17). ...................................................................
