Several enhanced keyboard do not pass the driver's installation-time tests and hang the system with 1.20. I had a Monterey keyboard and had to replace it by a Cherry Keyboard, which now works. After booting with the Cherry keyboard, I can even replace it with the Monterey and this then works too, but it does not pass the boot tests. Maybe thats your problem too, try another keyboard ...
