Message-ID: <53921329JM@MSU> Date: 10 Aug 90 18:44:42 GMT Organization: Michigan State University Lines: 19 I am considering purchasing a home computer in the next year. Mostly, I want to play around with fractals, do some basic word processing, hack around in C, perhaps one of the integrated packages ( word process, spreadsheet, data base, communications ), modem in to my mainframe account. At work, I have access to IBM clones, Macs, Suns, IBM3090, VAX8650, Convex 240. Some of my friends have PC clones, some ( the ones who work for the local cable TV channels ) have Amigas. One of the systems programmers here praises the Amiga, and has got me curious. Why Amiga? What are it's strengths? What are it's weaknesses? ( Like an ap- parent lack of software support? ) ANSWER BY E-MAIL. I will post a summary. Or better yet, if someone already has a summary, just send me that. PLEASE, e-mail, DON'T POST. I don't want to waste bandwith by starting Yet Another "My Computer's Better" Flamewar. Thanks. -jp
