Failing that, what are >some of the other reasons for running UNIX on an Amiga? [...] On my own time I am first an Amiga user. I own an Amiga for its video capabilities and entertainment value. The Amiga fills my idea of entertainment better than anything else out there. Now because of the amount of discretionary time that I spend on my Amiga, I am very familiar with it and with the applications that I use on it. My Amiga could be extremely useful to me in my work because of my familiarity with the tools and applications. But at work we use Unix workstations on an Ethernet network. It is not convenient to keep a workstation and my Amiga there on my desk together. If I have to reboot then that is a drawback. However, I've still multiplied the capabilities of my box. There just don't seem to be many easy-to-use applications available for Unix boxes beyond the few specialized applications that the boxes were purchased for (ie board routing or cad or whatever). A Unix box that is also capable of using Amiga applications (which I am already familiar with) is superior to one that does not have this capability. -- _. --Steve ._||__ DISCLAIMER: All opinions are my own.
