 Has anyone completed or got far into Hero's Quest I ????

I'm stuck. I need to know how to get through the Bandit's hideout, the 3
stooges always get me.

I'm also stuck in getting past the bear in the cave near Erana's peace. how
do I free the bear and get to the cave beyond.

Well, they're my 2 stumbling blocks thus far into the game. Any help would
be greatly appreciated.
