As far as I know, as an owner, the complete name and model number is "Quantum ProDrive 105S." >What cable or cables do I need to hook it up, I have a 2090 controller. You will ned a 50 pin SCSI ribbon cable with three connectors on it; one for the controller and one for each drive. Get the drive first, decide where you want to mount it, and then have the custom cable made with the connectors placed where you need them. >Did you have to input the drive >specs (number of heads, blocks per track, etc) into "Prep"? Well, I was using the 2091 setup software, so I didn't need to. I just told the software to read the number of heads, cylinders, etc. off of drive (it's a smart drive -knows what it is, etc. :-) and it did. Easy! >How well has the drive workes so far performance wise? >Anything else I should know about the drive about hooking >it up and such then please let me know. Thank you for any help that you >can give me! Thanks!!! It's a great drive! It seems faster than my Quantum 40S, and the extra space sure is wonderful. Quantum has a quality repuation too, so I would highly recommend it. You could get SeaGates for less, but they would die in a year or so, as talked about in this area.
