I have some troubles with trying to write on rs232 ports
of my 3b1

It has 3.51 system software
gss-drivers 1.01 install set 1
unix-pc curses/terminfo
att telephone 3.51
ate 3.51
communication patch 3.51
rs232 expansion 3.51

RS232 port has TERMINAL configuration
RS232 port 001 has TERMINAL config.
RS232 port 002 has TERNINAL config. too

% ls -l /dev/tty*
crw-rw-rw-  1  root  sys 2, 0 aug 8 17:40  tty
crw-rw-rw-  1  root  sys 0, 0 jan 1970  tty000
crw-rw-rw-  1  rooot users  0, 2 aug 7 23:55 tty001
crw-rw-rw-  1  root  users  0, 3 aug 7 23:55 tty002

.....

% echo toto >/dev/tty001
Ctrl-C
ksh: /dev/tty0001: cannot create
%
% shit!


DDid you ever had issimilar poblems ?

I think number 0 as prime device number is bizarre  
as prime device number of /dev/tty is 2....?
