The performance of this server on the 98550 card is much snappier on the 98550 card than with the standard 7.0 server. Since it can be used with no modifications to the existing 7.0 standard setup, it is a real win for most people with these displays. As has been noted the performance improvement is less dramatic on other displays. As always, your mileage may vary.
