This is a table of the 256 different ASCII values, and (mostly) the way they're interpreted in the PC/PC-clone world. The uuencoding is used on account of because we have ASCII values > 127 appearing. The news system ain't guaranteed to swallow such values without gagging. There are six tables, one set of three each for the values [0,127] and [128,255]. There are tables for decimal, hexadecimal and octal equivalents, and you can split 'em up and use 'em any way you want. Here at n5gax we use two files, ascii and xascii, which hold the [0,127] and [128,255] groups, respectively. Since we use 4dos (If you don't know about 4dos, it's time for the oft-prescribed reality check!), we have the following aliases set up: alias ascii `more \lib\ascii` alias xascii `more \lib\xascii` They make for convenient file viewing, easily done from, say, inside Emacs. Many other text editors will let you shell out and read...or import...the files into whatever you happen to be doing. (From the usage, obviously that's not the native messdos "more" used above...it's a more (Amore? Never mind....) from one of the various collections of utilities.) ----------------------- CUT CLEANLY HERE ------------------------------- begin 0666 ascii.tab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
